Details of the Badger Golf Day held at Woldingham Golf Club in October 2010, won by Alec Vallintine.

The final match of 2010 saw a welcome return to the verdant valley setting of Woldingham Golf Club in Surrey where we really did see four seasons in one day.  Our thanks go to Alan Ruddy and Ruddy Joinery for their generous sponsorship of the day.  Despite the heavy rain in the week before, the course was, as usual, in excellent nick and provided an excellent test of golf for the 29 Badgers and guests in attendance. It would have been 30 but Mark Smith succumbed to a nasty bout of Lizitis in the morning with the resulting deep thumbprint left on his forehead rendering him unable to play.  Still, for his 'did not show' he was docked the regulatory 1 shot, a warning for us all; no matter how close in line you are to the throne, the committee still require 24 hours notice for a withdrawl once you have comitted.

Onto the golf and those that did keep their wives in check and turn up, the winning team was John Barnes, Alec Vallintine, John Smith and Keith Ives who were all rewarded with a fine bottle of Chateauneuf-du-Pape for their troubles.  Winning Guest was Garry Evans with Longest Drive being won by Malcolm Doyle.  Nearest the Pin was won was John Merralls with a popular appearance on the Winners Rostrum on his first Badgers outing since recovering from serious illness - nice to have you back in the fold Sir!!
