Details of the Badgers Golf Day held at Cray Valley Golf Club in September 2010, won by Dave Guildford. |
![]() Following our ditching of Birchwood Park as a Badgering venue because of repeated piss-taking/mucking about of the highest order every time we visited there, for 2010 we made an inaugural visit to Cray Valley Golf Club in Orpington. Top marks to Harry Cutts for his recommendation as the course provided an excellent test of golf in pleasant surroundings for the 28 Badgers in attendance. In what must rank as the quickest course we've ever played the whole society sailed round in under 6 hours from start to finish, so we'll definitely be returning next year. Our thanks also go to John Pye and Simplicity for their generous sponsorship of the prizes. As outgoing Captain, John kicked off proceedings by present Chris Knapp, Captain for 2010-2011, with The Badgers Head. This was followed by the presentation of Captains Badgers to Chris and our Past-Captains Simon Tuson and Eugenio Caruso, and the presentation of Winners Badges to past Badger Day Winners Steve Eades, Phil Tweddle, Steve Brewer, Chris Knapp, Pete Gallagher and Eugenio Caruso. Congratulations to you all. Chris Knapp receives the Captains Trophy from John Pye

In respect of the golf at Cray Valley, Team Prize went to Mark Smith's four ball, with Graham Bright, a guest of Frank Kinghams, winning the Guest Prize. Longest Drive was won by John Barnes and Nearest the Pin was won by Marco Franchi (looking at his scorecard it must have been the only golf shot he hit all day). At the top of the table (as opposed to the bottom which was again dominated by Marco) the scores were very tight, with all top three places scoring an impressive 41 points apiece. Following countback, Third Place went to Phil Tweddle (perhaps with his winnings he can buy a new Badger shirt?), Second Place to Keith Ives and First Place to Dave Guildford. Congratulations to you all and thanks to all of the Badgers for attending and supporting us.

If you like small things) We did catch up with our maggot willy'd friend at Woldingham, so here's the fully clothed version receiving his trophy belatedly
